How Much Food Can One Eat....

Hey World,

Just another morning here in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I had a less busy day yesterday, but still very exhausting and wonderful!

I have to start out this post by saying that I have really, really enjoyed the food here. Everything i've tried, minus one thing maybe, has been amazing. That being said, I literally almost ate myself in food yesterday.

The morning was very relaxing, and Shin I went to go get turnip cake. Oh my GOSH IT WAS SO GOOD. I loved it!! I don't know why I loved it so much... but I really did.

My friend, Yen and his girlfriend Yaya took me to Tainan yesterday. If y'all remember the earthquake that happened a few weeks ago, that was the most affected city. It's only about 40 minutes away form Yanchao, the suburb of Taiwan that i'm in. We got in the car, and then picked up Yaya's friend Claire.

Now, let me tell you something. Taiwan is a fairly small country. Claire is actually quite famous. She and her boyfriend both sang on some TV shows and became pretty famous around the country. No one came up to her, but I was watching a couple videos of them on some TV competitions, and they were telling me about it. I thought that was pretty cool... I should have asked for an autograph!

We went to this vegetarian restaurant in Tainan, and I don't know the name. We literally had a 5 course meal. First, was the salad, which no one really liked, then a corn soup, main entree, a special drink, and a dessert. This was about 400 NTD... which was maybe about 12 American dollars. So... for a 5 course meal, this was very very good. I especially liked the soup!! SO YUMMY.

Then, we went to get ice cream. It was amazing! The ice cream I had was vanilla bean on top, strawberry on the bottom, with strawberries around it and a vanilla sauce. Very sweet, and very good.

I went back to school for one class today... Acapella. It was very cool! I learned how to sing in more chinese, and did some finessing on my own music reading skills. I sight read most of the music. I also got to sing a song that I learned in America in my own choir about 10 years ago. That was an incredibly surreal moment. 10 years later... I sing the same song I sang when I was 11.

Then, Yen and I took a break for about two hours, and he took me to his mom's resteraunt! We had another hot pot. I was very full and had eaten so much during the day already... eating the whole hot pot was almost impossible. It had potatoes, veggies, mushrooms, and broth. I had it with rice. His mother was so sweet... she wanted to make sure I was very full... and I was for sure.

The good and bad thing... was that we were going to the night market after. Night market is very famous for having lots of good fried food. By the time we got there, I was still not hungry, but proceeded to eat sweet potatoes, strawberries with vanilla and rice paper, and a very yummy drink. I got a couple other items for myself and some friends while we were there. It was such a cool environment! Night Markets are very famous in Taiwan. This was the most famous one in Kaohsiung.

We went home after that, and I went right to sleep <3 What an amazing day. Today? Dance 7 hours. Lets do this.
